REFLECTIVE REVIEW OF FILMING.

DAY 1.
Location:- Georgia's house
Filming time:- 5-6pm
Date:- Friday 9th March 2012
Summary:
In total we did 9 takes of the first scene, although this was expected as it was our first time getting the hang of the camera,an issue that we could narrow it down to would be the actors being used at the time were not taking it too seriously at the beginning. To improve this we could have chosen different actors or had a talk with them in depth about the plot.

Another issue that we couldn't really have prepared for was the time that we started filming. Originally we would have liked to have started filming at 3:00pm however that was delayed due to the time taken up to charge the camera battery, it delayed us for 2 hours we did not start filming until 5pm. We finished at 6pm. (Technical issue)

Setting the scene took a while because of the wind, the candles around the shrine kept blowing out which was a nightmare so we decided to leave then unlit. The picture of Georgia that was to be stuck onto the tree was very time consuming as we had to search around Georgia's house for duck tape in order for it to stick.

We did not do research on the weather forecast for the day which we should have however it wasn't an issue as the weather was just as we wanted it to be which was cloudy, so it complimented the low key lighting that we were aiming for.

The hand made shrine looked very realistic.
The weather complimented the low key lighting we were hoping for.

Spoke to the actors in depth about the plot.

DAY 2.
Location:- Sixth form Common room
Filming time:- 12:20pm - 1:00pm
Date:- Monday 12th March 2012
Summary:
In total we did 4 takes which was an improvement on the previous day of filming. We did 4 because of the difficulty of noise level and the the immaturity of other students who happened to be in the common room.

We didn't start at 12:20 on the promptly because we had to wait for Kemika to finish Georgia's make-up which was a minor issue but could have been prevented if Georgia done her make-up at home before hand.

Improvements wise we could have adjusted the way people were seated in the common room to reflect the matter/ subject of the opening thriller i.e:- couples in focus of the camera in the background.

WWW - What Went Well -
We managed to film what we needed to in a small amount of time

EBI - Even Better If ...
Make-up was done beforehand
Planned common room layout and setting more efficiently

DAY 3. (FINAL DAY OF FILMING)
Location:- Georgia's house
Filming time:- 3:00pm - 3:45pm
Date:- Friday 16th March 2012
Summary:
We only did 1 take per change of scene which was a big improvement to how we did on the other filming days. However timing was a bit of an issue when it came to starting filming, we had to wait for one of our actors (Emmanuel) who arrived an hour late. It wasn't a major issue that disrupted anything but it was an inconvenience. The only problem we had at the beginning was  the reflection of the door on the camera lenses which we were trying to film through to get a POV shot for our stalking scene, that problem was solved in a short period of time. We did have a few other delays due to a malfunctioning of Georgia's printer, if we had printed out the props we needed earlier this could have been prevented.
WWW - What Went Well
All scenes were done in one take
Finishing filming earlier than anticipated

EBI - Even Better If ...
If we started promptly
We didn't have any technical issues with the printer

AN OVERALL REFLECTION
OF
FILMING.

Overall as a group we felt that our planning and research worked effectively to our advantage because we were able to get on with our filming straight away with out any major problems, our filming schedule made it an easy task as well.

One thing that I think we could have improved on was making use of our storyboard more effectively on our first day of filming. On day 2 we realized it was essential to stick to the story board due to the limited timing of 2 minutes for the thriller opening.

Although this was not an issue I feel that we should have checked out locations with the camera instead of just assuming that lighting and Mis en scene would be as we wanted it to be.
